The EU Commission intends to support the production of green technologies in the Union.
According to the media the plan will include a target for European industry to produce at least 40% of the solar panels that will be installed in Europe, 85% of wind turbines, 60% of heat pumps, 85% of batteries and 50% of hydrogen electrolysers by 2030.
In order to achieve this goal, subsidies for companies that contribute to energy security with their production will be available, with further funds likely to be transferred from other funds, such as the Recovery Plan, and state aid rules will be relaxed. The elimination of bureaucracy, and faster issuing of permits are also intended to help.
This would encourage suppliers manufacturing on a large scale in Europe, and not just in China, as has been the case so far, or moving towards the United States, which has recently launched its gigantic green program.
